This is to inform you that on September 10th, two "Notice of Public Hearing" signs were placed in Murphy's Landing.

These are in regards to a variance request by Version to place 5g cell towers/poles in two locations:

In contacting the email listed on the notice: PlannerOnCall@indy.gov, the Board learned some additional information.

“A petition has been filed with our office by a Verizon representative for a 5g pole at that location. Adjacent property owners and registered neighborhood organizations should be receiving a Notice of Public Hearing in the mail. The deadline to mail the notices is Saturday, September 12, 2020, if they have not been mailed already. This public notice mailing will have information about the hearing, the applicants contact information, and a Current Planning Staff Planner contact on the back side. The Staff Planner assigned to the petition will be able to tell you what Staff’s recommendation will be to the Board of Zoning Appeals, after Staff has had a chance to discuss the petition.

The sign is only a notice for a hearing, no decision has been made at this time. There will be a public hearing as indicated in the mailed public notice, where you will have an opportunity to voice your opinion in support or opposition of the petition request. Or, you may submit a written statement by email to DMDpubliccomments@indy.gov, which should include the approximate address of the sign location.

The public hearing is currently scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, starting at 1:00pm. It will be online due to the current COVID pandemic conditions. Details on how to join the online hearing will be located at the bottom of the public notice on the second page. Public hearing information and staff reports will also be available closer to the hearing date, at our website, https://www.indy.gov/activity/board-of-zoning-appeals-2020-staff-reports-and-hearing-results

Verizon has created the attached document with frequently asked questions. If there are any questions, Verizon created a website (www.improveyourwireless.com/centralindiana) and an e-mail box (indianawireless@verizonwireless.com) that people can be directed to.”

The Board as an entity, does not have any more or less power for or against this variance request than any other home owner. Since a mailing was only sent to adjacent property owners, as the Board we felt it necessary to notify all HOA members, who live near the proposed locations, but are not "adjacent" to be aware of the variance request.
